Summer 2019 Camp Schedule 

Registration for Summer Camp will Open January 1st.

Week 1 – July 7-12: Open Equestrian Horse Camp $469

Open to riders of all experience levels. Focus for education is on basics of horsemanship, Natural Horsemanship, drill team riding, and an overnight in the stable, complete with campfire and cookout. Riding under the lights and trail riding is also planned, depending on the weather.

Week 2 – July 14-19: New Riders Equestrian Camp $469 

Designed for those who love horses, but have very little experience riding. Focus for education is on basic horsemanship, Natural Horsemanship, unmounted lessons, and riding instruction that focuses on how to properly stop, start, steer, and walk a horse. Campers will also begin learning how to trot.

Week 3 – July 21-26: Novice Equestrian Horse Camp $499 

This week is designed for riders with more experience and allows them to spend the bulk of their day at Fair Haven stable. Unlike the other weeks where Equestrian Campers participate in other activities in the afternoon, they will have opportunities to ride both in the morning and the afternoon. Additional activities for this week include jumping, dressage, an overnight trail ride, and horse show on the last day of camp. Campers must be capable of independently grooming, tacking up, sitting trot and rising trot. Those registering must either be approved based upon prior year participation or must provide a completed questionnaire from a reputable riding instruction assisting to their riding ability.

Week 4 – July 28-Aug. 2: New Riders Equestrian Camp $469

Designed for those who love horses, but have very little experience riding. Campers will also begin learning how to trot.

Week 5 – August 4-9: Cowboy/Cowgirls Camp $469 

The focus of this week is western riding. In addition to natural horsemanship, campers will learn and participate in western horsemanship, showmanship, western pleasure, and trail class. Another focus for this week is trail riding. As this week is open to students of all riding levels, trail riding will be appropriate to the level of ability demonstrated by the rider. Participation in the overnight trail ride is at the sole discretion of the Equestrian Director to ensure the safety of campers, staff, and horses. Campers who do not attend the overnight trail ride will enjoy an overnight at Fair Haven Stables which includes riding under the lights. The week ends with a Gymkhana event and games on horseback.

Check-In is 4-6 pm on Sunday and Check-Out is 4 pm on Friday.

Day Camp, Check-In is Sunday 4-6pm of your respective week, drop off time is 8:45 am Monday-Friday and pick up time is 5:15 pm Monday-Thursday and 4 pm on Friday.
